BRIEF PROFILE :
The Department of MJMC was established in the year 2018.The post-graduate MJMC course is designed for students desirous of taking up careers in Media. A thorough grounding will be provided in communication and journalism theories and Mass Media Research. The syllabus is designed in such a way that the latest developments in the ever changing media sector can be easily incorporated in class room teaching.
Vision
To provide quality media education to the students of mass communication and Journalism in order to build good human communication in the rapid changing society from traditional to digital. The department emphasis to sharpen content development skills for budding media professional.
Mission
The department is devoted to create- awareness within the students, media professionals, faculty and stakeholders about freedom of expression, human rights, value education, media ethics and changing trends in media & research. The department also aims towards promoting creativity, innovation and research in new age media.

Alumni
The Department staff meeting of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Raichur University convened on 2021 August 10, decided to form Journalism Alumni Association. Dr. Mallikarjun. M was assigned as the coordinator of Alumni Association for the academic year 2021-22. Alumni of Department of MJMC belonging to Raichur University will be started/to be active from 2023 onwards. But the Alumni has been made to collect the information of the students right from the beginning. A public notice was issued on the Alumni Foundation Gathering and registration of the alumni has to be done through a specified google form/ Registration book.
