BRIEF PROFILE :

The Department of Instrumentation Technology is the first and only department in the state of Karnataka offering the M.Sc. program established in the year 1993. Graduated students of the department settled all over the globe in different fields of Instrumentation, Electronics, and Computers contributing to the society in various fields.

To make the Department a world-class institution of higher learning, commitment towards disseminating and generating knowledge and providing students an education that is well balanced, it trains the students to meet needs of modern industry for high quality scientists/ engineers in this field.

Mission

To provide students with high quality education, self reliance in the field of Electronics and Instrumentation and to train students for entrepreneurship and placements in R&Ds/Industries.

Facilities

Learning and research environment. Classrooms with teaching aids, Department Library with good collection of books, equipped student and research Laboratories: Analog and Digital Electronics lab, Sensor/ Transducer lab, Microprocessor/Microcontrollers/Personnel computers/ Digital Signal Processors/ Programmable Logic Controllers Lab, VLSI, CPLD/FPGA, MATLAB, and Process Instrumentation Lab etc.

Alumni

Alumni association is formed and the first meet was organized in the month of October 2014. Students had an opportunity to interact with the alumni who are working in industries/institutes and other government and corporate sectors. The alumni association helps the students of the department to get jobs in various industries.

 

 

Uniqueness of the Department

  1. The Department of Instrumentation Technology is the first and only department in the state of Karnataka offering the M.Sc. program in Electronics & Instrumentation established in the year 1993 at Gulbarga University PG Centre Raichur. The department is transferred to Raichur University, Raichur from the year 2021-22.
  2. Electronics & Instrumentation is the Industrial job Oriented course.
  3. Future scope of the course is more oriented in R&D labs and Industries.
  4. After the completion of the course the student are trained in Embedded
    systems, Bio-Medical electronics, Scientific/Analytical Instrumentation, VLSI… etc..
  5. Self entrepreneurship qualities are encouraged in the course.
  6. Latest technologies such as embedded systems, VLSI… etc… are
    incorporated in the syllabus
