BRIEF PROFILE :
Raichur University, Raichur Established Department of Botany in Academic Year 2021-2022. Department has been provided with few Teaching faculties.
As the University is in the line of Elaboration and Expansion it is lacking behind in providing Laboratory facilities, Equipment’s etc…
Overview
- The aim of the postgraduate degree in Botany is to make students knowledgeable about the various basic concepts in wide ranging contexts which involve use of knowledge and skills of Plant Science.
- M.Sc Botany is Two year Postgraduate programme covers wide range of basic and applied Botany courses as well as a course of inter disciplinary nature.
- The course is designed to build a strong Botanical knowledge base in the student, and furthermore, acquaints the students with the applied aspects of this fascinating discipline as well.
- The student is thus equipped to apply the skill learnt in the program to solving practical societal problem.

Uniqueness of the Department
- Organizing Workshops, Seminars and Symposia on thrust areas of plant science in collaboration with others scientific bodies.
- Exposing the members to various industrial applications of Botany through visits to industries thereby increasing the scope for Academy-Industry-Interaction.
- Conducting quiz and poster presentation program to students to increase the general awareness and popularize the subjects among natural lovers.
