Raichur University was established in the year 2020, is one of the State Universities of the Karnataka State to cater the needs of higher education of Raichur and Yadgir Districts. The two districts comes under Kalyana Karnataka Region of Karnataka State. These districts are declared as aspirational districts by Government of India. The University is located near Yeragera village, Raichur with 250 acres of green campus. The University has twenty Departments with Science, Social Science, Commerce and Arts streams. It serves as ocean of knowledge for over 1500+ students pursuing their master degrees in M.A., M.Sc., M. Com., M.LiSc, MJMC, and MSW courses. The University has systematic and job oriented post graduate programs with student centered curriculum. Most of the students comes from rural background and belongs to SC/ST and deprived categories. The campus is Wi-Fi enabled, well equipped laboratories and library with text and reference books for all faculties. There are 204 colleges affiliated to this University, which enrolls graduate/diploma courses in Arts, Music, Social Sciences, Science & Technology, Commerce and Education. The University is equipped with an adequate infrastructure for research and development, co-curricular and extracurricular activities. The University is conducting the campus placements drives and internship facilities to the students.
The National Conference on “Multidisciplinary Research: Prospects & Challenges(NCMDRPC-2024)” is organized by the Science Departments of Raichur University, Raichur. The theme of the National Conference is to create awareness and importance of multidisciplinary research, also to know the challenges and opportunities. The role and importance of the basic sciences in multidisciplinary research is also being discussed in the said conference. The conference also brings the scientific community and students together on a platform to have discussions among them. It is expected that the conference brings the awareness to the rural background students and motivates them to join science courses. It is also expected that the young teachers and students will be greatly benefited and motivated by interacting with renowned experts in the different fields. The current conference includes Plenary Lectures, Invited Lectures, Poster and Oral Presentations.
